A management system for machining and metal fabrication shops

Quotes are in Excel, work orders are on paper, promised dates are in the foreman’s head and invoicing is in Acomba. Socle puts the order, production and shipping in one system, built around the way your shop works.

What this system fixes

  • A client calls to ask where their order is, and someone has to go check on the floor.
  • A promised date slips, and you find out when the client calls back.
  • A machinist works from an old revision of the drawing.
  • Nobody knows how many hours an order really took compared with the quote.
  • Material is missing when it’s time to start production.
  • The invoice goes out late because nobody said it had shipped.

The path of an order in Socle

Each step picks up the information from the one before. Nobody retypes anything.

  1. Quote

You put it together with your items and your prices. When the client accepts, it becomes an order in one click, with its purchase order number.

  2. Order

Each line has its promised date and the drawing revision. The list shows late orders first.

  3. Production

The order becomes work orders, with the operations for each work centre. Each work centre sees its queue on a tablet and records the start and end of each operation.

  4. Shipping

You ship all or part of the order, with the carrier and the tracking number. The packing slip prints in your colours.

  5. Invoice

It picks up what was shipped and goes to Acomba or QuickBooks by export.

What you see when you arrive in the morning

Today’s board shows you what needs your attention, without opening a spreadsheet.

The modules for shops

Orders and promised dates, production by work centre, shipping, inventory and purchasing from suppliers. They’re added to the base that is in every system, with clients and suppliers, quotes and invoices, work orders, scheduling and documents.

We keep only the ones you use, and we adapt them to your work centres, your vocabulary and your reports. If something is missing, we can build it.

Why not an ERP?

A full ERP often takes months to set up and is paid per user. Socle handles operations and leaves accounting to Acomba or QuickBooks. The day you need an ERP, your data will be clean and ready to bring over.

Already in service at a made-to-order manufacturer

UnikFeet makes made-to-order insoles. It isn’t your trade, but the path is the same, with an order, manufacturing steps, a promised date and a delivery. The system has been in service since September 2026 and the team uses it every day.

“Every small change meant redoing everything. Now it’s all connected: if someone moves an appointment, the calendar updates on its own.”

Questions from shops

My employees aren’t comfortable with computers.

The shop floor screens are made for a tablet, with big buttons. We draw them with you before building, and training is included.

Does it replace Acomba or QuickBooks?

No. Your accounting stays where it is. Socle exports the invoices to your accounting software.

We already have software. Can Socle connect to it?

In a first version, Socle exports to your other software instead of connecting to it directly. We look at what’s possible together during the consultation.

How long until it’s in service?

About two weeks for the Blueprint, then six to eight weeks to build. The date is set in the Blueprint.

Can I start with just orders and production?

Yes. We can start with a few modules and add inventory or purchasing later.
